علی‌اصغر مواسات، با نام هنری دی جی الیگیتور (علیگیتور) DJ Aligator، در 19 اسفند 1353 در تهران، ایران، متولد شد. او کوچک‌ترین عضو یک خانواده بزرگ بود و از کودکی علاقه زیادی به موسیقی نشان داد. در سن ده سالگی، یک کیبورد اسباب‌بازی هدیه گرفت و بدون آموزش رسمی، توانست ملودی‌های مختلف را بنوازد و استعداد خود را به نمایش بگذارد.
در سن سیزده سالگی، علی‌اصغر به کپنهاگ، دانمارک، نقل مکان کرد و در آنجا دوره‌های مقدماتی موسیقی جاز و کلاسیک را گذراند. پس از فارغ‌التحصیلی از دبیرستان، در برنامه ریتمیک کنسرواتوار موسیقی دانمارک شرکت کرد. برای تأمین هزینه‌های تجهیزات موسیقی، به عنوان دی‌جی در یک کلوب شبانه مشغول به کار شد و در آنجا با رنه دیف آشنا شد. آن‌ها گروه یورودنس Factual Beat را تشکیل دادند و در سال ۱۹۹۵ یک آلبوم منتشر کردند که موفقیت چندانی نداشت. پس از آن، علی‌اصغر به تولید موسیقی برای خود و هنرمندان دیگر پرداخت.

Ali Asghar Movasat, known by his stage name DJ Aligator, was born on March 10, 1975, in Tehran, Iran. He was the youngest member of a large family and showed a keen interest in music from an early age. At the age of ten, he received a toy keyboard and, without formal training, managed to play various melodies, showcasing his innate talent.
At thirteen, Ali Asghar moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, where he attended introductory courses in jazz and classical music. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the rhythmic program at the Danish Music Conservatory. To finance his musical equipment, he worked as a DJ in a nightclub, where he met René Dif. Together, they formed the Eurodance group Factual Beat and released an album in 1995, which did not achieve significant success. Following this, Ali Asghar focused on producing music for himself and other artists.
In 1999, he released the single “The Whistle Song” under the name DJ Aligator Project. The track achieved great success in Denmark, earning quadruple platinum status. In 2002, the song reached number five on the UK Singles Chart, leading to a performance on BBC’s “Top of the Pops.” His debut album, “Payback Time,” released in 2000, brought him international recognition.
His second album, “The Sound of Scandinavia,” released in 2002, debuted at number three on the Danish album charts and sold over two million copies worldwide. This success garnered him awards from the Danish and Russian music awards. In 2022, DJ Aligator collaborated with Steve Aoki and Timmy Trumpet on the track “The Whistle,” featured on Aoki’s album “HiROQUEST: Genesis.”
Ali Asghar Movasat, known as DJ Aligator, continues to be an active DJ and producer in the electronic music scene, creating new works and performing live worldwide.
