مهدی یغمایی، خواننده، آهنگساز و تنظیم‌کننده موسیقی پاپ ایرانی، در ۲۱ مرداد ۱۳۵۵ در مشهد به دنیا آمد. پدرش از مداحان مذهبی بود و یغمایی از نوجوانی استعداد خود را در خوانندگی کشف کرد. او در سال ۱۳۷۲ نواختن پیانو و آواز سنتی را آغاز کرد اما بعد از مدتی سبک خود را تغییر داد و در سال ۱۳۸۰ به‌طور حرفه‌ای وارد موسیقی پاپ شد. وی تحصیلات خود را در رشته شیمی کاربردی در دانشگاه شاهرود به پایان رساند و در کنار موسیقی، مدتی نیز به فعالیت‌های آکادمیک مشغول بود.
فعالیت هنری او ابتدا با گروه موسیقی ژوان آغاز شد که مجموعه‌ای از آهنگ‌های موفق را منتشر کردند. او همچنین به‌عنوان داور در برنامه استعدادیابی شب کوک که از شبکه نسیم پخش می‌شد، حضور داشت و به شناسایی استعدادهای جوان کمک کرد. یغمایی همچنین در برنامه‌های مختلف تلویزیونی مانند خندوانه و شب آهنگی شرکت کرد و در مناسبت‌های مختلف به اجرا پرداخت. او در سال ۱۳۹۷ ازدواج کرد و دارای دو خواهر و یک برادر است.
در کنار فعالیت‌های مستقل، یغمایی در ساخت و اجرای قطعات مناسبتی و تیتراژهای تلویزیونی نیز نقش داشته است. از جمله، آلبوم سلام آقا را به مناسبت محرم اجرا کرد که شامل قطعاتی مانند گل پرپر و شام غریبان بود. همچنین، او تیتراژ برنامه تلویزیونی ماه عسل ۹۰ را اجرا کرد و در ساخت آلبوم‌های مناسبتی دیگر مانند دلصدا نیز همکاری داشت.
او دو آلبوم رسمی منتشر کرده است: یه دنیا حرف (۱۳۹۲) که با تأخیر و بدون اطلاع قبلی روانه بازار شد و چمدون تو (۱۳۹۵) که پس از انتشار با استقبال خوبی مواجه شد. همچنین، یغمایی تعدادی تک‌آهنگ موفق منتشر کرده که برخی از آن‌ها مانند بخواب آروم (به یاد مرتضی پاشایی) و من عاشقت شدم توانستند نظر مخاطبان زیادی را جلب کنند.
مهدی یغمایی علاوه بر خوانندگی، آهنگسازی نیز انجام داده و در تنظیم بسیاری از آثارش نقش داشته است. او همچنان در عرصه موسیقی فعال است و با انتشار تک‌آهنگ‌های جدید، اجرای کنسرت و همکاری با دیگر هنرمندان، محبوبیت خود را در میان علاقه‌مندان به موسیقی پاپ ایران حفظ کرده است.
Mehdi Yaghmaei, an Iranian pop singer, composer, and arranger, was born on August 12, 1976, in Mashhad. His father was a religious eulogist, and Yaghmaei discovered his singing talent during his teenage years. In 1993, he began playing the piano and singing traditional Iranian music, but later transitioned to pop music in 2001. He completed his studies in Applied Chemistry at Shahroud University while also pursuing his passion for music.
His musical career began with the Javan music group, where he contributed to several successful songs. He gained further recognition as a judge on the talent show Shab Kook, aired on Nasim TV, where he helped discover new talents. Yaghmaei also appeared on popular TV programs such as Khandevaneh and Shab Ahangi and has performed at various events. In 2018, he got married and has two sisters and one brother.
In addition to his solo career, Yaghmaei has contributed to various religious and thematic music projects. He participated in the album Salam Agha, dedicated to the Islamic month of Muharram, which included songs like Gol Parpar and Sham Ghariban. He also performed the theme song for the television program Mah Asal 90 and collaborated on other special albums like Delseda.
He has released two official albums: Ye Donya Harf (2013), which was unexpectedly released without prior announcement, and Chamedoon To (2016), which received positive reception upon release. Additionally, he has produced several hit singles, including Bokhab Aroom (dedicated to Morteza Pashaei) and Man Asheghet Shodam, which gained widespread popularity.
Beyond singing, Yaghmaei is also involved in composing and arranging music, playing a key role in the production of his songs. He remains active in the music industry, continuing to release new singles, perform in concerts, and collaborate with other artists, maintaining his popularity among Iranian pop music enthusiasts.
