Iranian musician, singer, and composer who began his professional career in 2001 by enrolling at the Tehran University of Art, specializing in double bass. He started learning music at the age of ten, studying instruments such as tonbak, piano, clarinet, and classical vocals. After obtaining his degree in music, he joined the ensemble of Master Mohammad-Reza Shajarian and began collaborating with Homayoun Shajarian in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>From 2009 to 2016, Azar was active in the jazz genre and joined fusion groups like Dang Show and Pallet, becoming one of the pioneers of fusion music in Iran. As a core member of Pallet, he contributed to composing several pieces and served as the group&#8217;s secondary vocalist. Despite Pallet&#8217;s growing popularity, Azar departed from the group due to personal pursuits and certain disagreements.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving Pallet, Azar focused on releasing solo singles and engaged in negotiations with various producers, which ultimately did not yield positive results. He produced the album &#8220;Abi Khakestari&#8221; (Blue-Grey) in collaboration with Navid Zamardi, Mohammad Shariat, and several other top composers and musicians. This album, characterized by a fusion of styles with an electro-acoustic ambiance, is based on a true story and features poems by Ahmad Shamlou, Mohammad-Reza Shafiei-Kadkani, Reza Baraheni, Yadollah Royaee, Rasoul Yunan, Ehsan Hayeri, Ahura Iman, and Azar himself.<\/p>\n<p>Azar has also incorporated works by poets like Ahmad Shamlou, Reza Baraheni, and Hamid Mosaddegh into his compositions, and in his latest piece, he collaborated with poet Ehsan Hayeri. He believes that poetry in Iranian music has become impoverished and requires greater attention.<\/p>\n<p>Currently residing in Montreal, Canada, Dariush Azar recently unveiled his second album titled &#8220;Chehel&#8221; in the city.
