Originally from Lorestan, Omid participated in the Iran-Iraq war at 18 and later moved to Turkey to pursue his studies in architecture while singing in cabarets to support himself financially. His musical journey began in high school and continued through professional training under masters of traditional Persian music, influenced by his work at the Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Persian Music.<\/p>\n<p>Omid released his debut album, <em>Baran<\/em> (Rain), recorded in Turkey and distributed in 1992 in the US and Europe by Taraneh Records. Following its success, he relocated to the US, producing four more albums: <em>Har Do Ashegh<\/em> (Both Lovers, 1994), <em>Sarboland<\/em> (Proud, 1995), <em>Hazrat Eshgh<\/em> (The Holy of Love, 1997), and <em>Parsehaye Asheghaneh<\/em> (Romantic Walks, 1998). After a hiatus, he returned with <em>Piroozi<\/em> (Victory) in 2002 and began holding monthly concerts across various cities. In 2004, he released a live concert album through Avang Music.
