The music group “Kamakan<\/strong>” is one of the well-known fusion music bands in Iran, which gained fame in 2013 by holding a concert at Azadi Tower in Tehran. This group, consisting of musicians from southwestern Iran and Tehran, performs songs and melodies native to that region with modern arrangements.<\/p>\n

In May 2015, “Kamakan” released its first official album, featuring the vocals of Mehdi Saki. This album includes works with poetry by Rumi, Hossein Monzavi, Ebrahim Monsefi, and anonymous poets of the southwestern Iranian folk music tradition. Makan Ashgovari, the composer and leader of the group, was involved in this album, incorporating a mix of global and Iranian instruments.<\/p>\n

Mehdi Saki, born in 1974 in Ahvaz, is a singer and theater and film actor. With his distinctive voice and southern accent, he has played a significant role in introducing the folk music of southern Iran. Besides his musical activities, he has also appeared in theater and cinema, acting in films such as “Low Heights” and “Duel.”<\/p>\n

Throughout its career, “Kamakan” has held numerous concerts and performances both inside and outside the country. Notably, in September 2019, they performed at Soura Hall in the Hozeh Honari complex in Tehran, where they presented works by poets and lyricists from southwestern Iran.<\/p>\n
