Mohsen Chavoshi Hosseini,<\/strong> an Iranian singer, songwriter, and composer, was born on July 30, 1979, in Khorramshahr. He began his professional career in 2003 with the unofficial album Nefrin<\/em> and, after five years of underground activity, obtained an official permit in 2008 for his album Ye Shakhe Niloofar<\/em>. Chavoshi has released 11 official studio albums, and his album Amir Bi-Gozarand<\/em> (2016) won the Barbad Award for Best Pop Album at the Fajr Music Festival. His musical style includes pop, rock, electronic, and dubstep.<\/p>\n

Chavoshi is known as the “Mr. Special” of Iranian music due to his diverse musical styles and unique lyrics. He gained widespread fame by composing and singing for the movie Santouri<\/em> (2006) and later increased his popularity with the soundtrack of the TV series Shahrzad<\/em> (2015). Despite avoiding public appearances and never holding live concerts, his songs have been widely received, and his social and political stances have sparked much discussion.<\/p>\n

Chavoshi\u2019s personal life has also drawn attention. He is of Kurdish descent and, following the Iran-Iraq War, migrated with his family to various cities. In 2009, he married Espako Yousefi, and in 2013, they had a son named Zanko. Despite recurring rumors of a work ban due to his political criticisms, he has continued his artistic career.<\/p>\n

Because he has never held a concert, some speculate that Chavoshi is incapable of performing live. However, he has stated that the poor quality of live concerts in Iran and the lack of professional sound engineering are the main reasons for his decision. He has only performed a few songs live in practice, including Zakhm Zaboon<\/em> and Khakestar<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Beyond his music career, Chavoshi has been involved in significant charitable activities. Throughout the 2010s, he helped release prisoners convicted of non-violent offenses, and by 2024, he had contributed to the release of over 600 inmates. Additionally, he founded the “Heydar Foundation” to support orphans and those in need.<\/p>\n
